Pastor Mehdi Tabakhi’s Testimony
Mehdi Tabakhi’s journey to Christ began in 1998 when he visited Malaysia for a family business project. Staying with an Indian family, he attended church out of courtesy, where a Canadian pastor prophesied that Mehdi would go to an Arab country where “God will meet you.” This marked the start of his spiritual journey. Back in Iran, Mehdi brought home a Bible and a Christian cassette, though he wasn’t interested at first. A year later, he moved to Dubai where he became more devout in his Muslim faith. However, after marrying Lucille, a Catholic Filipina, Mehdi began questioning his beliefs. He befriended Mahmood, an Iranian who had converted to Christianity, and was deeply impacted by his story and the love he saw in the Christian community.
As Mehdi studied both the Quran and the Bible, he became confused by the contradictions he found, especially about Jesus. He began attending Bible study, and after watching a movie about Jesus that moved him to tears, he prayed for guidance. One night, he had a dream that changed everything and that led him to embrace Christianity.
Despite facing opposition from his family, Mehdi and Lucille were baptized together in the Persian Gulf. Today, Pastor Mehdi Tabakhi serves God with a heart to share the love of Christ. His story is a reminder that when we seek God with all our hearts, He reveals Himself to us.
